Our Mission

The purpose of our youth athletic leagues is to provide an enjoyable experience for each youth participant, while developing character, skills, sportsmanship and promoting good will among all teams and individuals.  Although sports are competitive by nature, the City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department's intentions are to place less emphasis on winning, while promoting the building of lifetime physical activity and health for each participant. * Age Cut-Off date for girls ages 6-8 will be 4/30/10.

To Register:  Please click on one of the sports above. From there you will be prompted to create an account.  All families/participants must create an account in order to complete the registration process.  All applicable fees must be paid at the time of registration to be eligible.  

Cost: Sport specific fees are listed below. These fees will apply to all participants and must be paid in full when registering for any league or activity.

• Sports Uniform Fee:  $35.00 per sport.  Required for all participant's who play the following sports:  Football, Baseball, Softball, Soccer.

• Non-Resident Tuition Paying Students:  $50.00 per sport.   Required for all participant's that do not live within the City of Salem, but pay tuition to attend one of the City schools.  This fee is in addition to any uniform fee that may be required depending on the sport.
  
  

News and Upcoming Events:

►YOUTH FOOTBALL JAMBOREE
This year's youth football jamboree will be held on Saturday, August 28 at Spartan Field beginning at 9:00am.  All Pee-Wee through Junior Division teams will compete in two (30) minute scrimmages.  To view the days schedule, please click here.

►YOUTH SANDLOT NIGHT
The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Sandlot Night will be held on Friday, September 24. All fall youth sports participants (football, cheerleading and soccer) wearing their game jerseys will be admitted into the game free of charge (this includes all coaches listed on the team roster).  Teams should arrive no earlier than 6:30pm, and are required to enter through the gate to the right of the pass gate as a team.  The Spartans will play host to the Northside Vikings, game time is 7:30p.

►NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK COMPETITION
Listed below are 1st place winners in our local Punt, Pass & Kick Competition.  Each local winner will advance to a sectional competition with the hopes of moving on the national finals held during one of this years NFL Playoff games.  Thanks to all those that came out and competed.
