About Salem Kiwanis Baseball Field

The Salem Kiwanis Baseball Field is home to the Salem High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Baseball Teams and the Roanoke College Men's Baseball Teams 

The Salem Kiwanis Baseball Field is utilized 7 days a week beginning January through November. This facility hosts many events which draw state and national athletes as well as spectators to the City of Salem. The events held at Kiwanis can range from youth, adult, and high school players  to collegiate and national level players. The organizations that predominately use the Salem Kiwanis Baseball Field are NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association), VHSL (Virginia High School League), American Legion Baseball, Junior American Legion Baseball, AAU (Amateur Athletic Union), VAS (Virginia Amateur Sports), ODAC (Old Dominion Athletic Conference) and Virginia Dixie Boys Baseball. Some of the past, present, and future events that have been held at this facility are as follows: USA Softball National Team, 2001 Women's Professional Softball League, National AAU Baseball Tournament, VHSL A & AA State Championships, Virginia American Legion State Tournament, Commonwealth Games (High School Juniors All-Star Combines) and Virginia Dixie Boys District, State and World Series Tournaments. The City of Salem, Virginia and the Salem Kiwanis Baseball Field take great pride in hosting local, high school, collegiate and national championship tournaments with the highest of standards.

Special Features

  1. Gate House with (2) ticket booths, souvenir stand, and maintenance storage buildings
  2. Electronic Scoreboards, Individual Inning Scoreboard
  3. Portable Fencing which can be set up at a variety of distances
  4. Dugouts, water fountains
  5. Seating - Individual seats under covered grandstands and additional portable seating available upon request
  6. Restrooms - newly renovated men's and ladies restrooms to accommodate large scale events
  7. Concessions - permanent concession stands with the availability of portable concessions placed throughout the facility
  8. Club House - Supervisor and Site Supervisor Office, tournament headquarters, phone and internet hook ups, irrigation control panel for the entire facility, meeting area and restrooms for tournament officials
  9. Locker Rooms are equipped with carpeted floors, restrooms, showers, and individual lockers for participants.
  10. Press Box - Score board panel, audio units are located on this level which will play the national anthem or music on the field. Phone and internet hook ups available for television or Radio personnel. Additional sections available for influx of media for large events.
  11. Lighting System is 50/30 maintained which is equal to a Triple A, baseball lighting system
  12. Bull Pen available for home teams and visiting teams
  13. Batting Cages with four (4) lanes of batting cages equipped with electric pitching machines

FROM NORTH AND SOUTH VIA INTERSTATE 81

Take exit 141 turn south on Rt. 419 to right on Texas Street (Alt 11 or 460 Business), take left Florida Street turn left go to 6th Street and turn left into the parking lot for Kiwanis Field.

FROM NORTH ON 220

Exit 220 to Interstate 81 South at exit 141 go south on Rt. 419 to right on Texas Street (Alt. 11 or 460 Business), turn left on 6th Street and turn left into the parking lot for Kiwanis Field.

FROM THE SOUTH ON 220

Turn on Rt. 419 North go to Boulevard (GE Plant on right), turn left, go to red light past the Salem Civic Center turn left on Texas Street take next left onto Florida Street then turn left on 6th Street, turn left into the parking lot for Kiwanis Field.

FROM 460 EAST

Turn left on Rt. 419 South at Lakeside Plaza to right on Texas Street (Alt. 11 or 460 Business) take left on Florida Street turn left on 6th Street to parking lot for Kiwanis Field.
